Our celebration of National Foreign Language Week went well. You can view pictures from the events on our bulletin board in North Quad, or you can view them online and even order prints, if you like, here.

The next and final meeting of the year before Induction will be this Thursday, March 27th at 6 pm in NQ 137. Guest speaker Dr. B. K. Swartz Jr. from the Department of Anthropology will be giving a talk on petroglyphs and their use as a communication system. Dr. Swartz also gave us a lecture last year about the foreign origins of Christmas in this country.

Last, but not least, this year's Induction ceremony will be held Tuesday, April 8th at 7 pm in the Student Center Forum Room. The following new members will be inducted this year:

NATIONAL FOREIGN LANGUAGE WEEK

This week is National Foreign Language Week, and Alpha Mu Gamma is celebrating by offering a series of lectures/activities/workshops Tuesday through Thursday. As always, all are welcome to attend, including nonmembers and nonstudents. For those of you still needing to fulfill your attendance requirement for membership, you'll be happy to know that these meetings do count. The schedule of events is as follows:

Tuesday, March 4:
4:30 pm to 6:30 pm The movie In the Time of the Butterflies will be shown in classroom #2 of EdRes.

5 pm - 6 pm -- Dr. Steves will be giving a workshop for non-Spanish speakers entitled "How to Speak Spanish in an Hour" in NQ 111 (on the east side of NQ).

Wednesday, March 5:
1 pm - 2 pm -- Dr. Zheng will be conducting a Kanji workshop in CP 257.

Thursday, March 6:
11 am - 11:45 am -- Dr. King's French 403 class will be performing act V of the play Trois Prétendants . . . un Mari by Cameroonian author Oyono-Mbia in NQ 137.

5 pm to 6 pm -- Dr. Warner and Kathy Samuelson will be giving a folk/polka/rock workshop in NQ 136.

5 pm to 7 pm -- (unconfirmed) The German Club will be showing a film in EdRes. (Film title and location yet to be determined.)

6 pm to 7 pm -- Dr. Swartz will be giving a presentation on petroglyphs with an emphasis on their use as a communication system in NQ 137.
